The Kentucky Department of Education partnered with Leading Educators beginning in the summer of 2019 for support around the rollout and implementation of the new Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS). The standards address what should be learned, but they do not provide guidance on resources or learning design.
LE is providing support to two key groups – district leaders and school staff. LE is supporting district leaders by building knowledge and providing resources around change management, professional learning design and implementation, and program evaluation. School-based staff are being supported with access to tools and resources to apply their understanding of the KAS to their curriculum to determine if curriculum is high quality or if it needs to be supplemented with additional resources.
All schools across the state of Kentucky will have access to LE-created resources, reaching over 500 district and school leaders.
