School Teams AI Collaborative
The School Teams AI Collaborative is a first-of-its-kind national initiative designed to put real educators in the driver's seat of identifying, refining, and spreading best practices for AI-enabled instruction.
Read Recent Press! The sudden arrival of generative AI is driving a significant shift in thinking and approach across industries, including education. Many educators are already using AI to improve processes such as lesson planning and grading.
These use cases, often deployed at the individual level, have the potential to save time, but AI could offer even more value in instruction. For school systems to effectively bridge this societal digital transformation, there needs to be a greater focus on translating these ad hoc approaches into coherent and scalable system strategies.
The Vision
The School Teams AI Collaborative seeks to identify best practices for using AI in the classroom that align school leadership, instructional strategy, and educator practice to accelerate instructional improvement and yield better student outcomes.
We aim to foster an instructional ecosystem where school leaders and teachers work together to align support, structures, and resources for the responsible and effective use of AI.

Check out the first resources!
We’re thrilled to share the first set of resources showcasing standout AI-enabled instructional strategies from educators in the Collaborative.
These strategies highlight tangible examples of how educators are embedding AI into classroom instruction and provide guidance on applying these strategies in your context.

Working side by side, teachers and school leaders will identify the support needed to foster learning spaces where educators can confidently explore new ideas for improving instruction through technology, learn from successes and failures, and refine practices quickly.
Together, pilot participants will shape an educator community that leads to the creation of a resource hub for sharing emerging trends, best practices, and insights with educators nationwide. They will also have access to ongoing support, guidance, and feedback from experts in the field and other cohort members.
In-person and virtually, participants gather for facilitated learning, reflection, and goal-setting.
They connect with other educators who are on similar AI journeys and build a supportive network for ongoing collaboration.
School teams receive personalized guidance and feedback from experienced coaches who help them develop and refine AI-integrated instructional practices.
School teams share experiences, challenges, and successes to foster collective growth.
They also gain insights from leading experts at the intersection of AI and education. Sessions help them stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in AI-enhanced instruction.
Participants contribute to the creation and development of practical resources for doing more, doing better, and doing new through AI-enhanced practice.
They are encouraged to share their expertise and resources to benefit other educators across the country and shape the future of AI-integrated education.

About Alexandra Magiera
She has led pioneering projects, including a tech-enabled literacy pilot in NYC and the School Teams AI Collaborative, which explore how technology and design can help educators tackle today’s challenges and prepare for the future.
Alex’s passion for innovation is deeply rooted in her early experiences as a teacher, where she saw firsthand the power of listening to and learning from students and families—especially our youngest learners. This perspective fuels her work to design programs that elevate student voice and empower educators.
Over her career, Alex has partnered with teachers, district and system leaders, and state leaders across the country to create and scale meaningful solutions. With over 15 years of experience in public education and expertise in strategic foresight, service design, and human-centered design, she’s dedicated to helping educators meet the evolving needs of students and communities.
About Sandra Jin
Previously at Leading Educators, she designed ELA professional learning content for our partnership in Yakima, WA and coordinated national design of sessions and tools focused on literacy, numeracy, leadership, change management, and equity. Before joining Leading Educators, Sandra spent seven years teaching students from third through eighth grade in Washington, DC, serving as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and intervention coordinator.
Sandra holds an M.Ed from George Mason University and a B.A. in Sociology from Wheaton College (IL). She currently lives in New Hampshire with her husband and three children. She spends her free time trying to imitate creative play activities designed by Instagram-moms (with varying levels of failure and success).
