About Dr. Curtis Armour, Jr.

Dr. Curtis Armour, Jr. is the Director of System Strategy at Leading Educators, where he leads initiatives that strengthen instructional systems and promote excellent learning outcomes for all students.

Before joining Leading Educators, Curtis served as the Associate Director of Partnerships for the Atlantic Region at EL Education, where he guided partnerships with schools and districts to enhance teaching and learning through EL Education’s framework for deeper learning and excellence.

Curtis began his career as a teacher and instructional coach with Atlanta Public Schools, later serving as an Assistant Principal in the Fayette County School System and as a Title I Distinguished School Principal with the City Schools of Decatur. Under his leadership, the school’s CCRPI score increased from 68.7 to 94.1, earning recognition for closing achievement gaps for students of color and students with disabilities.

Curtis serves on the Board of Directors for DeKalb Brilliance Academy, where he supports the school’s mission to provide innovative, high-quality education for all learners. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Georgia State University and a Doctor of Education degree from Clark Atlanta University.
