About Kara Hayes
Kara Hayes is an Executive Support Coordinator, supporting the Leading Educators Leadership, Program, and Operations teams.
Kara was born and raised in the New Orleans area, attending and ultimately teaching in the city’s public schools. After a brief hiatus from the classroom to open a cafe geared toward families and children, Kara returned to teaching in 2020 just as schools were being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Witnessing firsthand the vast inequities in how students, schools, and families were supported to manage and facilitate online learning, she was drawn to Leading Educators’ work to change that reality. Kara loves travel and interior design, and is eager to begin exploring the world again once we are all able to venture further from our homes!
