

About Adan Garcia
Adan works at the intersection of communications, public policy, market development, and coalition building to further collective action toward what all students deserve grounded in what works. As Senior Director of Communications, he leads Leading Educators'' thought leadership, advocacy, and community engagement efforts.
Adan has served in various external relations and programmatic roles at Leading Educators over 9.5 years, contributing to key frameworks including Teaching for Equity, Open Up Opportunity, and the Value Add of Technology on Teaching. Previously, he supported 30 open-enrollment public charter schools in Washington, D.C. to strengthen teacher leadership as a regional program manager and served on the steering committee for two national institutes. Before that, Adan developed evaluation strategies for educator voice programs in NY, CO, and MI at America Achieves. He has also coached young social entrepreneurs and co-instructed courses in public leadership with the College Park Scholars and Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows programs at the University of Maryland.
Adan holds a M.P.P in social policy and nonprofit management from the University of Maryland and a B.A. with Honors in political science from the University of Arizona. He lives in Washington, D.C. and spends his free time taking in the arts, playing intramural kickball, volunteering as an advisory board member for NewMexicoKidsCAN, and performing the occasional karaoke solo.
