About Alexa Rowek

Alexa Rowek is a seasoned leadership coach with a strong foundation in special education and neurodiversity support. As Director of Content and Coaching, School Leadership at Leading Educators, Alexa equips principals and leadership teams to lead effective, high-impact instruction that serves all students. She designs and facilitates coaching academy for all members of the Detroit Public Schools Community District's Curriculum and Instruction team.

Over nearly 3 years at Leading Educators, Alexa has consistently supported school leaders in strengthening their instructional leadership practices to drive meaningful improvements in teaching and learning.

Before joining Leading Educators, Alexa served as the Achievement Director of Special Education at KIPP, NJ for over 15 years. Her journey began as a Special Education teacher, evolving into school leadership and system-level coaching.

Alexa holds an M.Ed in Special Education from Pace University and received a post-masters certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDT-C) from William Paterson University. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Dickinson College with a focus on studying the brain. Her specialized training helps her understand the interconnectedness of brain function and learning.

When not working, Alexa is passionate about being a mom to her two children, taking family vacations, and reading. She brings a deep belief in the power of relationships and humor to spark lasting change, both in schools and at home.
