Aneka Bruce is a dedicated educator, innovator, and leader who believes in the transformative power of strong instruction, coaching, and technology to expand opportunity and drive student success. Her career spans classroom teaching, school leadership, and national innovation work, consistently anchored in her commitment to excellent learning outcomes and sustainable instructional practices.
A proud Brooklyn native, Aneka began her career teaching secondary mathematics in the NYC Department of Education before moving into leadership roles in Southeast D.C. as a Math Intervention Manager, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal. She then brought her expertise to Leading Educators, where she served as Director of Content & Coaching for Yakima School District and Summit Public Schools. Her leadership in both districts yielded measurable growth in educator implementation of the adopted curriculum with 100% of educators utilizing the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum by year end in Summit Public Schools, which efforts earned her the Enhancer AMBLE Award for elevating mathematics instruction.
Today, Aneka serves on the AI Strategy Team as a Director of AI-Enabled Instruction, orchestrating the design and implementation of cutting-edge AI-based mathematics tools across school districts nationwide. Her pioneering work, recognized during her SXSW keynote alongside the CEO of Playlab, empowers teachers and administrators to integrate AI thoughtfully into instruction, catalyzing transformative student growth through technology-enhanced learning environments.
Aneka’s academic foundation includes a B.S. in Kinesiology, Movement Science from Penn State University and a M.Ed. in Secondary Mathematics from St. John’s University. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is also a proud U.S. Army Soldier serving as an Army Medical Officer, blending her passions for leadership, service, and education. She finds balance through yoga and meditation, culinary adventures at emerging restaurants and brunch spots, and exploring scenic hiking trails with friends.
